MP02 - English Instructions?

Post by G1Skywarp » Fri Sep 22, 2006 1:50 am

Hi all,

Picked up Masterpiece Ultra Magnus ($40AUS bargain!), and had a try at transforming him with the supplied chinese instructions. Unfortunately, I didn't get very far. All the box information is in chinese except for a few things.

It says on the bottom of the box to get English instructions go to the Hasbro site and download the MP1 Optimus instructions - but they don't seem to be there anymore. Anyone know where I might be able to find them now?

Only took a cursory glance around the 'net and didn't find much. Perhaps you'd have more luck if you told us what exactly the problem you're having is?

Unfortunately not. He seems to have translated everything but the instructions. Having said that, the info on that page was fascinating. Lots of stuff I didn't know.

I think my problem is pretty simple (either that, or I'm pretty simple  )

I am having trouble identifying what part a particular step is. According to the instructions, I have to do the hands first, then twist the torso. The next step I don't understand. It looks like I have to press the fuel tanks in on his legs and then push the legs up, making the legs as a whole shorter. Is this right? The fuel tanks on mine don't seem to go in, so I'm not sure if I should be pushing them harder or not. The last thing I want to do is break it.

Anyway, that's the problem I am having. Couldn't work out that step, so pretty much gave up trying to finish the transformation. Too tired from work to bother thinking about it too much!

Thanks for any help

Dude, you've got to click on the hyperlink numbers on the top middle of the page. Underneath the words "booklet translations". From page 6 on.

The fuel tanks don't go in, but the legs DO push up, making them a whole shorter.

3. Press the lower portion of each fuel tank on the sides of the legs and slide the lower legs up.
Upon looking at the diagram (page 7 in the link from my previous post) the fuel tank seems to be depressed at an angle, favoring the lower end of the fuel tanks. Pity they weren't specific enough about that bit.

Shanti, are you talking about the US version? Because they might have changed that bit for the US, safety rules and whatnot.

Yeah, I tried those but I only got scans of the booklet. No translations  Dunno what I'm doing wrong there.

This fixed my problem! The tanks did push in slightly at the bottom, I just needed to push them a little harder.

Thanks for your patience, guys. Your help was invaluable! Thanks!
