Lost Light #12

Well, I was a bit underwhelmed with this issue, unlike the last two. It wasn't bad, like the earlier issues of Lost Light, but was missing something.

I was excited to see Star Saber return, but very disappointed in the battle between him and Defensor. There are times (many times, actually) I yearn for the Figueroa days of old with incredibly well-rendered battles that lasted two pages instead of two panels. Defensor just fell apart with one sword swipe ala the original Transformers cartoon. I think Roberts is a very cerebral guy, and certainly that's made MTMTE and Lost Light different from other TF tales of yore, in a good way. But I do wish every now and then he'd take a page out of Budiansky's or Furman's book, and give us one of those grand ole slug fests. Defensor vs. Star Saber would have been a perfect opportunity to do that. Wonder what the Figster is up to these days?

Anyway, Cybertopia. Finally.
"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.

I was also underwhelmed by the issue. So much so that I didn't even make the thread. Thanks for doing so, bud.

But...holy hell, they found it! They got there! I cannot wait to see what happens next!
