The TF Triumverate

Post by Shanti418 » Fri Jun 17, 2005 6:33 pm

In another thread, I made the point that out of Transfans comic, cartoon, and toy section, only the comic section is remotely complete, IMHO.

Cartoons are close, but I think they could use more of a "review" type thing like the comic section as opposed to a summary. Nothing sucks more on Transfans than clicking on "more details..." and finding that there are no more details to be found.

Toys obviously need a lot of work. I know the mods probably bear the brunt of all this work, and esp. BF, but I think us relative noobs that are always here like SC, Autobloke, Sprunkner, Darth Aux, and myself to name a few could and should help out to spruce up the place a bit as far as typing up some reviews or scanning some pics or whatever. What do you say, guys?

Now, a good counterpoint would be, "Amias (which is my real name), if you haven't learned by now, no one around here likes the cartoons, and some of the members of the Elder Council, like Best First and Redstreak, are selling all their toys like there's no tomorrow."

But what I would say to that is, "Well, if that's the way you feel, then maybe the site should better reflect our fanaticism for comic TF. Perhaps comic quizzes, or more images, or maybe even try and seek out a few interviews of people who did letters on like two pages in one issue and ask them why they don't dot their i's. Maybe even some sort of system where you could have a running rating poll on the quality of each issue."

Anyway, my main point is: I love Transfans, and I want to help out when it comes to making this site better and more informative.

Hmm.

Looks like you want to join Project: TransFans.

Best thing is to look in the relevant forum for more info, or if there's none there, pm someone you think might be (a higher-up) in the team. ;)

We rely on volunteers. The reviews don't appear by magic. ;) It's hard work and time-consuming too, more than you might realise.

Not at all. We have a handful of cartoon reviews but we want more.

Great! :) Then send a PM to BF and join the team. :)

Different place, but reviewing mid-era Budiansky is deadening.

Mid-era Budiansky: Not especially bad, just dull innit? Perfect example is the snorefest that is 'Used Autobots.'

Done some more TPB reviews have you Den? I'll go and have a ganders. :) Archive's looking tip top at the mo.

I honestly assure everyone that you wouldn't want me to reveiw anything - I'm sure you've seen my angry obsessive opinions and weak debating powers in other topics.
As for pics, I have alot of TFs, but they're bloody hard to dig out since I had to move home in a hurry. If it's a case of needing a very specific TF that can't be found anywhere I might make the effort if I can remember which damn box it's stored in (there's 30 big boxes here).
That said, I don't think I've ever gone to the source section of this site - I just float around the forums all Straxus-headlike.
